This fully guided Hike & Bike tour near Évora begins in the countryside, following the remarkable 16th-century Água de Prata Aqueduct. Walk along this impressive engineering masterpiece while learning about cork, olive oil and aromatic herb traditions that shape the Alentejo landscape.

You’ll arrive at a traditional Alentejo country farmhouse, where you visit the Classic Car Museum, featuring Jaguars, Austin Healeys, Porsches and even a Jeep that raced in the Paris–Dakar Rally. You may also stay overnight at the farm, Monte do Serrado de Baixo, for a deeper countryside experience. (Click here)

Enjoy the farm animals, explore the vegetable garden, and relax in a peaceful rural setting. A generous picnic lunch is served with local bread, cheeses, chorizo, olive oil tasting, fresh salad, dessert, and regional wine from a nearby producer.

After lunch and a well-earned rest, the cycling portion of the tour begins. Ride back toward Évora along a traffic-free ecotrail, mostly downhill and easy, making the return both relaxed and scenic.

Upon reaching Évora, follow Rua do Cano (“Pipe Street”), where the aqueduct enters the city. The tour continues through Évora’s narrow white streets, discovering its UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic centre.

Along the way, visit the Bones Chapel, one of Évora’s most unique landmarks, with entrance included.

Experienced cyclists can complete the full trip by bike. Riding along the aqueduct path is fun but requires some care. There are narrow trails and a few steps where you’ll need to dismount. While mostly walkable, this path can also be cycled.

The tour is suitable for children who can cycle and enjoy walking. We provide kids’ bikes, and the route is mostly easy, though some asphalt stretches require experience. Private tours and child seats are available for an additional fee.
