About us

Pedro is a nomad and has itchy feet. Traveling is his passion. He is a true adventurer and has taught us the wonders of discovering the world and going off the beaten track. Pedro has done several expeditions in Africa on a jeep, descended several rivers on a kayak, and climbed the Island Peak in the Himalayas. His wish for the 70th anniversary was to spend it climbing the Aconcagua in Argentina, and there he went! The weather was too bad so Pedro had to turn back but that is part of mountaineering and adventure and he sets new goals all the time! He is an inspiration to all of us! He was the “father” of the off road driving in Portugal and now he moved this passion to classic cars. If you stay at our farm you can visit his fantastic museum.

Ana is our “brain”, and the mother of the company. She is an expert on the Alentejo and the real ambassadress of our beautiful region. Ana wrote several travel guides about the region and knows every hidden church, artisan or village. She can draw the perfect tour sitting on her desk. Ana loves traveling and trekking is her favorite sport. She has trekked in Portugal, in the Himalayas, and in Peru, to mention some. Ana’s last author work was the digital book “From – Farm – to Table”. Following her advice or one of our tours, you may experience wonderful flavors straight from the producer.

Mário is super easy going, apparently shy but in reality very sociable and fun to be around. He has an archeologist degree and you will love to visit the megalithic monuments with him. He loves trail running competitions and is super fit. He has his own vegetable garden and loves the outdoors. He is a great bike guide, very friendly and caring. You will meet him if you book a guided tour. He is also in charge of all our websites, design, bike maintenance and outdoors. So we keep him pretty busy!!! He has just been a father!

Dina is what we call in Portuguese a “pau para toda a obra”, a “stick for all jobs”! The expression describes someone who fears no task. Dina never says “I can’t do that, don’t know how to do it”. Sometimes I ask something from her and I can feel her reaction is not the usual enthusiastic “off course”, and then I know she doesn’t know how to do it. But she will say nothing. And on the day after she comes with clever doubts, of someone who has been studying the matter. Giving up is not for her. She is also, and above all, responsible for your money! She is in charge of our houses in Évora and our farm Monte do Serrado de Baixo, where she welcomes our guests as family.

Cláudio is our maintenance mastermind. Passionate, emotional, and, yes, a bit stubborn (okay, very stubborn). He’s not the most polished, but he’s got a huge heart and an unmatched dedication to keeping everything working perfectly. When a problem pops up, his first reaction might be a grumble or two, but give him a minute and he’ll be the first one rolling up his sleeves to fix it. He loves procedures… even if he doesn’t always follow them. A true man of the field, he also gathers wild mushrooms and since we all eat them, it’s fair to say we literally trust him with our lives!

We met Sadeq at the airport, unusual spot for an interview, and he’s been part of the adventure ever since! A true bike lover, he somehow manages to combine his passion for cycling with the pace of a very lazy bear. Out in the field, he often looks at the work ahead as if thinking, “Do I really have to do this now?” — it’s very funny because this is a typical characteristic of Alentejo people and he is not from here! Clients absolutely adore him for his empathy, kindness, and sense of humor. Always full of ideas for improvement and totally focused on quality (especially in his legendary, super-detailed reports), Sadeq might move slowly, but he sure leaves a big mark.

Rafael is a friendly, engaging guide who makes every ride feel relaxed and enjoyable. Curious and communicative, he enjoys sharing stories, insights, and local knowledge — always with enthusiasm and good humor. When he believes in something, he’ll defend his point of view tooth and nail! Proud of his work and focused on doing things properly, Rafael has a sharp eye for detail. That same attention carries into his passion for photography and video, and into his deep knowledge of our coastal tours, which he knows like the back pocket of his cycling jersey. He lives the cycling life daily, commuting by train and bike, and was training for a triathlon when we first met him — a good hint of his energy and discipline. With a background in design and a strong creative streak, Rafael brings both structure and style to every tour.

Always smiling and full of energy, Filipa keeps our logistics running like clockwork! She’s clever, proactive, and has a real knack for making things happen — from managing suppliers to solving problems. Hospitality runs in her veins: her mom owns a local restaurant that our guests absolutely love visiting (and we’re pretty sure Filipa’s charm is part of the secret recipe). Bright, kind, and full of promise, she’s one of those people who just makes everyone’s day a little better.

Quiet but determined, Carla proves that strength doesn’t always need to be loud. She joined us right in the middle of a whirlwind and never gave up — step by step, she brought calm and order to the chaos. Always smiling (even when chasing payments!), she handles our finances and client payments with patience and care. Shy at first, but once you get to know her, you’ll see a perseverance and dedication that promise she’ll go very far.

Ana Bela is the heart of our guest house — friendly, welcoming, and full of personality. She makes homemade jams and a granola so good it’s officially better than the boss’s recipe (we’ve all agreed on that!). The house is always spotless under her watch, and every guest feels instantly at home. Just a word of advice — don’t get on her bad side! Luckily, her smile and sense of humor make that pretty hard to do.

Miguel has been guiding almost since he was born. It started with simple tasks, as helping out on a check in at the farm house. It went on to serving drinks at the picnics, helping with the cooking, biking with small groups and big groups, taking luggage to the rooms and taking the most funny pictures. He grew up and now he is ready to be a guide. We are proud to have him and to have witnessed his path.

Joana is one of our external guides — and one of a kind! Super empathetic and endlessly warm, she has that rare gift of turning clients into lifelong friends (she’s invited to more homes around the world than the rest of us combined). She absolutely adores guiding — it’s her passion and it shows in every ride. Full of heart and enthusiasm, Joana is a whirlwind of smiles, stories, and energy — sometimes a little all over the place, but always in the best possible way. English isn’t her strongest suit, but she gives it her all — because Joana truly loves people, and people truly love her back.

Manuel is good fun, committed, honest and extremely positive. He gets the job done and he is very competent. He thinks with his heart a lot, which makes him very empathic. He is very focused on our mission and if a client or a member of the team needs him, the world stops. He has a child inside him who hopefully will never grow up. He has a dog who is really his son, who goes to school every day! He wants the boss out of the office and we are still trying to understand why! 🙂

Torsten is a German guide who has been living in Portugal for over 20 years — and in some ways, he’s more Alentejano than many locals. Calm, grounded, and deeply connected to the land, he has fully embraced the rhythm of life here. His nickname could easily be “Germalentejano.” He grows his own vegetables, notices every detail, and brings a reassuring sense of structure to everything he does. Torsten values procedures, believes in doing things properly, and you can always count on him to follow through — carefully, thoughtfully, and correctly. Quietly reliable and committed to quality, Torsten is the kind of guide who makes everything run smoothly, often without you even noticing. In our book, that’s a true art.
