  • Algarve’s picturesque and lively historical centers
  • Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Natural Park
  • Yellow sandstone cliffs on Lagos with amazing caves
  • Tasty picnics served at the beach or at local restaurants

This active holiday in Portugal starts in Porto Covo, a fishing village known for its charming architecture and cliff views. The adventure begins with a walk through the wild landscapes of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park, followed by a week of cycling, hiking and kayaking along Portugal’s southwest coast.

Our days have lots of variety with visits to places such as the Fisherman’s museum, the cape of Sagres and several fortresses. The Portuguese Sea Discoveries of the 15th century are always present.

Besides cycling, hiking, kayaking and enjoying the amazing scenery, we invite you also to learn about the local economy.

The beaches are beautiful, on the first days with fun waves and impressive steep cliffs on the background while the last days offer us quiet and crystal blue waters.

The hotels are all great quality. There is a Pousada included and an old hamlet, time forgot, transformed into one of a kind hamlet/hotel tourism project.

Finally kayaking will give you a different perspective of all this amazing scenery!

Bike, Hike & Kayak Tour Reviews

Reviews From Our Five-Star Clients

Portugal Best Cycling (Turaventur) took us on a fabulous tour through Portugal's Alentejo and Algarve regions (we did a customized bike/hike/kayak tour for 10 days for a group of 11). We had many experiences that we wouldn't have found on our own, from visiting a cactus farm, to visiting a cork factory, to finding beautiful locations for tasty picnics, to visiting Teresa's family farm where we had a barbecue and saw a newborn donkey and an amazing collection of mint condition antique cars. Teresa has an incredible "joie de vivre" that is infectious, and she knows her way around out-of-the-way bike routes. She also has a talent for choosing the perfect hotels and restaurants (great locations, reasonable prices). Joana brought us all of those tasty picnics, became everyone's friend, and drove the support van. We would highly recommend this group for anyone who wants an active travel experience in Portugal.

“Wow! Wow! Wow! What an amazing cycling trip. From beginning to end it was fantastic. Amazing scenery! Wonderfully challenging cycling! Super accommodations ( one in a medieval village)! Outstanding food! Cooking experience in a private home on a farm! Bonding galore! Local wine tasting! Kayaking in caves! Guides and drivers that made you feel like family, not a customer! They cared about our safety and were forever checking on our well-being and satisfaction! If you couldn't handle the cycling that day, you could hop into the van”
