Description
This Évora City tour starts at the country side. Because the city would not have developed without its amazing aqueduct. Walk along this fantastic 16th century engineering work of art. We learn about cork, olives and aromatic herbs.
We reach a beautiful traditional Alentejo country house where we invite you to visit the Classic Car Museum. Here we will show you Jaguars, Austin Healey, Porsches and even a jeep which did the Paris-Dakar rally.
You can also book accommodation in this farm (Monte do Serrado de Baixo).
Enjoy our farm animals, our vegetable garden and the peaceful atmosphere. Here we will serve you our delicious picnic lunch which will include local bread, cheeses and chorizos, olive oil tasting (3 different olive oils), 2 salads and dessert. Local wine from a neighbour producer included as well.
After the deserved rest we are ready to start our bike tour. We ride to the city through the ecotrail, a traffic free green lane. Downhill, no effort! Optional we can add a visit to a local winery, set in a 14th century palace, or a biological aromatic herb producer.
Arriving to the city we follow the “Pipe” street – Rua do Cano – discovering how the aqueduct goes all the way to the city center. The Évora city tour continues through the narrow and white streets discovering Évora’s unique historical centre, classified by UNESCO World Heritage site.

Experienced riders can complete the entire Évora bike tour. Cycling near the aqueduct is good fun but you need to love cycling. There are some steps where you have to step down from your bike and the path is narrow. The path along the aqueduct is really a walking path but possible to cycle in.
KIDS:
Tour is suitable for children if they can cycle and enjoy walking.
We have bikes for kids and the cycling path is easy, but we have to do some stretches on the asphalt road, so your child should have the experience to participate on the tour.
You may want to consider a private tour paying some extra money. We also have child seats.
If you wish to visit the monuiments of the city with a guide and taste some local snacks, see our Évora Tapas Tour
